Role-Based Dashboards for Different User Types

wisawi, part of the Saxony Economic Development (Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen), created tailored dashboards for different user types to guide users directly to the most relevant services and content.

Instead of using one generic feed, each user group (e.g. startups, partners, corporates) gets a custom entry page designed around their specific needs and use cases.

This improves navigation, user experience, and overall platform engagement.

More details

Step 1: Create Dedicated Dashboard Pages

For each user type, a separate dashboard page was created.

These pages highlight:

  • Relevant services

  • Key offerings

Each dashboard uses cards template, where each card is linked to a specific page, module, or content.

This allows users to directly access relevant services or information with one click, without needing to search manually.

Step 2: Set as Entry Page

The dashboard page can be set as a role-based entry page, ensuring users land on their tailored dashboard after login.

Step 3: Add to the Navigation

Additionally, the page can be linked in the navigation selecting only visible for role “Startup”. That allows users to easily return to their dashboard at any time.

Step 4 (Optional): Configure automated roles for user types

To efficiently manage users and control permissions, it is recommended to assign a suitable role to each user type through automation. Currently, these automations can only be set up by the Innoloft team. In the future, however, users will be able to configure and manage this themselves via LoftOS.
